Today is the day that changed everything for me.  I had a “positive midlife crisis” today and have came to realize I should do something more meaningful with my life.

Today was the first time I actually talked to Leeza more.  I went up to her and said that I’ve always seen her around whenever I pass by the area.  And each time she was reading a book!  I told her that’s what made her different from all the other homeless people I’ve seen.

We talked about how she always like to read books of any subject.  And I told her that I would get more books for her.  And that’s when I saw happiness in her.  I asked more about her homeless situation and a bit about her background.

I then went to get her a new book titled “The Invention of Wings” by Sue Monk Kidd.  It’s an inspirational book which would be best for her situation.  Keeping positive is the best thing you can do while being homeless.

I also gave her $40 and also my number if she ever needed a friend to talk to.  We’ve since been in communication once in awhile.

I also took the first photo of her:
